Exclamation Imac g3? few q's & intro 2 forum

hi all,
i recently bought a purple imac g3 it has 256mb ram 60 gig hdd & running 10.1.5, has cd/dvd drive/cd burner, has a green keyboard & mouse
only problem im having is when im using itunes & go to burn disc it comes up no burner software to do it. reads cd's & cdr & dvds ok just wont burn for me & i have office 2004 on it but that wont work as you need 12.4 os.
im new to imac's alwasy been pc until now slowly figuring out things.
like when im looking at picture files from pc onto the imac they come up really small in the ipreview but works ok if you view them in the display preferences.
is there any games for the imac's?? only got a solitare one & monsters inc bowling
i havent connected it to the net yet as we use our laptop for that.

anyways im Damien, 27, married live in figtree nsw which is near wollongong
looking for work i do work for the dole 4 days a week so that keeps me out of mischief.
im on a few car forums with this username so i thought id stay with it.
im on myspace & facebook & i use msn/windows live messenger.
Cheers

Welcome to the forums.
OS10.1 was a bit of a dog. If you can get a Jaguar ( 10.2 ) CD and install that instead you would be better off ( less bugs /faster ). Probably $25-$40 off ebay.
If you could also increase the Ram as well , you will have a better OSX experience.
Mac Office 2004 will run on 10.2 but I think you have to do a system update ( free download from Apple ) to get it to 10.2.8 first.

Does the iMac have a slot-loading or tray-loading optical drive?

Welcome,

What version of iTunes are you using?

Have a look in your iTunes menu for "burn playlist to disc", as far as I'm aware you shouldn't need a separate burning program.

Good luck with it

Mine is still going alright with a few years left in it yet.I will upgrade the ram and HDD later.Macs tend to age slower than PCs but note that a slot loading imac is at least 7 years old and like most machines it will start to show is age.Good preteens machine as it will do basic tasks and is fairly kiddie proof
