iMac ram capabilities

It just seems hard to believe that a penryn mother board is only capable of using 4GB of RAM, and am wondering if when the oppurtunity arrives could 2x4GB sticks be inserted, thus utilising 8GB.

What were you looking at doing on it? Surely 4GB would be enough :P

When 4GB SO-DIMMs are available they should work fine in the last two models of iMacs.
