Where do they actually ship from?

I have ordered my first mac (iMac 24", 2.8GHz, nVidia 8800, 320GB HD) on the 11th and it says "ships by 14/05/08 - 15/05/08. ETA delivery by the 20/05/08 - 22/05/08. Where do they actually ship from?

If you have a custom order I think it comes from China. Stock models come from Sydney.

The order status says "Preparing For Shipment" and I ordered on sunday night. I dont know whether this means its ready for shipment? (sorry if thats a really dumb question, im new to it all) Oh well, looking forward to delivery

Oh really? I was always under the belief that they were shipped from Santa's warehouse. Like the really good stuff that he gives to people all year round.

There's a few items that are commonly ordered, like 7200rpm HDD upgrades in the MBP, that are kept in stock in Australia, as Apple knows they're going to sell a significant number of machines with that type of upgrades.
