Just switched over..

I have just switched over to the other side

I bought one of the older iMac models as they were heavily discounted at my work. Ended up getting the 20" 2.4Ghz for $1528 AUD where the normal price was $2150 (before the new ones were announced). Been a Windows PC user for 12 years.

I thought I'd might as well get the high end 20" model of the older range rather then the low end 20" model of the new range seeing it's more powerful and cheaper.

Extremely happy with the purchase. The quality of the iMac is just amazing compared with other computers on the market. I cant understand why anyone would rather a messy HP or Acer desktop loaded with Vista and bloatware over this beautiful thing. And the fact that everything is so integrated and all in one...(screen, sound, mic, webcam) just makes it the perfect computer solution.

This is my first post on here BTW :P

Welcome to the mac community.
You're right, Apple do make beautiful places for us to work in (both software and hardware) and this must have a positive effect on our lives. I've often asked the question; "If windows is so good, how come it looks like you bought it at K Mart?".

I wish I could leave Windows behind permanently, but I can't because of my job (IT admin). I keep a Windows machine for gaming and my wife uses one, but otherwise I am all Mac.

Welcome Davies, I hope you enjoy your stay. Just if you're wondering about software, there's a great post started by [MREV08] entitled I've just switched to Mac - what's the best program to do... ?

I think you'll realise very quickly that quantity on the Windows side doesn't always beat quality on the Mac side.

Welcome. Like me you saw the light and came over from the dark side.

No question is too dumb or too techie for these forums so any problems/questions just ask.

Enjoy
