iMac's with Penryn - when?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying a new iMac, and was considering if I should wait for them to be upgraded to "Penryn" (I don't even care, just concerned for resale value). One would think they would do this before easter.

Any ideas?

Ricky.

Rumour. prattle and murmour has it that they are certainly on the horizon... as the littlest hobo song went "maybe tomorrow..."

It's just a shame that they have knocked down the onboard cache so that they are indifferent to the upgrade. But go you little Mac Mini... anything extra in that will be a mega bonus.

But if anyone is going to buy one now, get a refurb.

Fantastic deals to be had on iMac 20/24-inchers.

MacScoop from the 6th March 2008.

This bit of gossip came from MacScoop:

'Apple is readying to release an improved version of both its iMac and Mac mini lineups by the next few weeks, sources indicated MacScoop."

Wink

I'm crossing my fingers that Apple will at least allow the option to have a higher powered graphics card in the 24", not the piddly 2600 Pro (which I have to say is the complete gheyness in respect to performance, and is even outperformed by the 8600 GT MOBILE with GDDR2 RAM!). I'm betting on the HD3850, which is very easy on heat emissions and power consumption (the marvel of 55nm!) and quite powerful, but not quite as powerful as the 8800 GT, which won't interfere with the Mac Pro's status.
So Steve, don't disappoint, or I will have no choice but to unleash my uber micro upon thee and treat you to a ride on the fail train, next stop gheyness
