HDD upgrade on a 24" c2d iMac (white)

So I've come to conclusion that my 250gb in the imac just aint suffice anymore, and I need an upgrade of the hdd (being well aware that if I was to do it myself would void the warranty), I was wondering if a 1tb hard disk will fit/work on one of those iMacs, as I recall back in the day when they were around on the store, that 750gb was the maximum that was available in the BTO, but can't remember if the 750gb was the hardware limit that the logic board can recognise/handle, or whether it was because that was all that was out at the time?

i just put a 1tb drive in a core duo imac, works fine, it is nicer and more cost effective to put a new drive in if you can swap yourself

Easy?

I'm hoping to upgrade my 250gb drive in my white 24" imac as well. The other day I figured I'd see how far I could get to the innards and was able to remove the cover and at about that point figured I had better have some sort of guide.

Is the drive located behind the LCD?

I'm comfortable doing this myself but am hoping there exists some directions somewhere to keep me on course.

How did you go about your upgrade?

Wait until the 1.5 TB drive is out from Seagate and that should solve you'r space problems for some time.Check out "tomshardware.com" as they are around $200 us

Whether it voids the warranty or not is subject to much debate. I personally don't think that it would.

It voids warranty. I can assure you of that. Of cause they'd ask for proof that it was done by someone authorized, thus if you cannot provide this proof. Say goodbye to remaining warranty if any.

This warranty does not apply:

(d) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansion) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider ("ASAP")
Only says "DAMAGE". If you don't damage it then it will not void the warranty.
