do you reckon that price is vaguely on the money CW?
And if its one piece should it not be then covered by the service extension for this known fault?

Apparently you're not alone. This is a new "common" problem which is lighting up more than a few forums worldwide. I'd say it has something to do with the latest system updates. Apple is more than aware but not saying anything... as usual.

i am having a similar experience with my mid 2007 15" mbp c2d 2.4ghz 4gig ram running 10.4.11

once i wake it from sleep the screen either stays black (and requires restart from poer button) OR it comes on after a few seconds and everything is very jumpy - like bad stop animation film. once i restart its back to normal...

just to add: this issue happens about 90% of the time... the rest of the time it works normally...
