Help! Mist!

Hello All. Have had my iMac under a week, experiencing something weird with the display (24"). It seems to be misting from the inside? It starts at the bottom right of the screen and creeps along the screen making it blurry. Definitely temperature related. Can anyone throw any light on this? Cheers.

Yep, common problem - happens to my machine often. I have spoken to Apple about it and they told me to take it to an authorised service centre. Problem is the nearest one to here is over an hour's drive away.

I know in the US Apple are replacing machines that exhibit this problem, but it doesn't sound like they are here.

Best idea would be to call Apple and tell them, and see if you can get further than I did.

"Mist" is the German word for "Shit".

Just thought I'd share that.

And the German word for "Poison" is "Gift".

Since the iMac is under 7days old, it should qualify for a DOA replacement (Which I think lasts 30days)?

Hmm I thought "Mist" was more the translation of "Crap/Waste"
and "Scheiίe" was more synonymous with "Shit"

Mist is the formal word, like "Excrement", yes. Scheiίe would be what you say when you slam your finger in a door.

Sorry to be distracting from your problem DocoHollywood. If it's a new machine, take it back and get them to sort it out. It's an unacceptable problem.

Haha, I just popped into the thread to write the same thing, though I also think "crap" is a better translation.

(Kannst du denn Deutsch, tintin?)
