Needing a bit of help here.
I was playing around with the settings on a clean-up program called Cocktail last night on a friend's powerbook, and must have set it to Single User Boot.
This morning after turning on the Pbook, my friend rings me and describes a black screen with jargon on it similar to DOS...(the comparison is slightly insulting, but because she was panicking I couldn't say much..lol). Anyway, this is what the part that was understandable said:
Code:
Fri Feb 18 12:59:17 EST 2005
Singleuser boot *-- fsck not done
Root device is mounted read-only
If you want to make modifications ot files,
run '/sbin/fsck -y' first and then '/sbin/mount -uw /'
localhost:/ root# *<-- Around here I typed in /sbin/fsck -y and the following is what happened
**/dev/rdisck0s3
**Root file system
**Checking HFS Plus volume
fsck_hfs: Volume is journaled. No checking performed.
fsck_hfs: Use the -f option to force checking
localhost:/ root#
Soooooooo....since it's my fault the Pbook turned out this way..and it's not even mine.. I need urgent help to decipher all this, and how to get it back to the normal set up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
