New iMac's

I'm looking at buying a new 24" iMac for home...

Is anyone having the issues with the display looking up, i was reading that Apple have actually acknowledged it as a problem but no info on a fix...

What is the standard apple practice for OS upgrade if they release Leopard this month... I guess i should just wait till after the 26th..

Comment on how much you love it if you have one

As soon as Leopard is announced (likely tomorrow), there will be a cheap (A$15 or so) upgrade path. You send them proof of purchase (and the money) and they'll send you the DVDs.

We've had a 24inch 2.8Ghz imac in the studio for the last 3 days and so far there's been the usual odd program quitting out as the system settles but otherwise it's all good. I initially didn't like the new look but the screen does look amazing and the aluminium looks a lot less "grey" than in the images.

I've got the latest 24" Intel iMac and the screen is fantastic
No issues what-so-ever from my perspective. Probably the best Mac I've ever used!

I've got a new 24" and get hard lockups regularly in UT2004 and occasionally in Aperture and Dashboard.

EDIT: And they've been occurring since I got the computer, not just since the recent update as that article suggests.

I have a 24" 2.8GHz, full 4Gb RAM and it's been mostly superb. BUT!

1) I have had a number of crashes/freezes using CS3, normally when iTunes is going.

2) There is a fan at the lower left from the user's perspective that rattles when cold. Drives me bats. Started 7 days in from new.

3) I know I have sweet f/a chance of getting Apple to fix the fan because is sometimes does it and sometimes doesn't. Work with music most of the time so it's less of a problem. Still STINKS on a machine that cost close to $4K!!!

4) Still waiting on my wireless keyboard, but the old original from my G4 works fine for now.

5) I really deserved something nice as an upgrade. My old machine was a G4 433 running OS 9.2.2. This one is brilliant.
