A grand for the first one - no thanks, considering the CPU upgrade is only worth $250 USD

It seems CPU upgrades are all but drying up now - amazing that they still exist for an almost nine year old Mac. Certainly the Powerlogix single 7447 1.5Ghz seems the most common ($229 at OWC, also at YourMacStore), although I'd seek out a 7448 if you can (large L3 cache, considerably faster). If you can afford the coin, a CPU upgrade gives a Cube a new lease on life.

Apart from the lack of USB 2.0 (nice but not essential), the Cube still is my daily Mac - I really do love this machine. I purchased a Dell 2408 24" panel recently and was worried it would not output to 1920 x 1200 res, but here it is, working perfectly.

Haven't been any for sale here for a while, they seem to go on eBay for $250 - 350 depending on case condition. Of course RAM/HD etc is cheap to obtain.
