Transfering Mail Folders and Contents
Hi,
I am in the process of setting up my 'new' eMac. It is replacing my trusty, old but tiring blue iMac.
The old iMac was running Mac OS X 10.2.8 with Mac Mail 1.2.5 (V553).
The 'new' eMac is running Mac OS X 10.4.9 with all latest updates, with Mac Mail 2.1 (752/752.2)
I've followed the information in the eMac users guide for transferring settings etcetera and also copied over from the User Library the mailboxes. The mailboxes show up in Mail on the eMac, but they have no content. I've then copied the individual mailboxes, again the data is shown as transferring across, but the folder when you go into it is empty and Mail does not pick it up.
Am I missing something in the process?
I want to get my old email messages across to the new eMac because there is a lot of contact, content and history there I need for future email correspondence.
Any ideas and suggestions welcome.
Other than that, the new eMac is working out really well. Just this one problem with getting the old mail across.
Thanks,
Col
