Audio Recording Apps
I am going to have a go at producing some podcasts with my students at school this semester.
What is the best app for capturing audio? I believe Audacity is popular - and free - but if there is a better app I don't mind paying.

Also - is using an external plug-in mike a hassle on a 1.8 mhz G5 an issue?

You'll need a line level output from the mic, in other words a small mixer or pre-amp.

Or else a usb adaptor like the imic, or a usb mic.

WireTap Pro from Ambrosia Software is supposedly farely decent.

i use Sound Studio from Freeverse, tho only to record analog to digital (ie. converting old cassettes into .aiff files, mainly. Works very well as an audio editor, too).
