Think we will get one.. Probably just the standard 1.25Ghz, with the 80Gig drive and 512Meg RAM.. Airport maybe also, but since it will be on a desk near the router, not mush of an issue

Probably not for myself. I'm not in the target market I think.
But I'll look out for those unhappy with their PCs, and nudge them in the direction of the Mini.

Not for myself, but will try & get my parents to buy one instead of upgrading their ageing windows PC.
Also spoke to a friend last night & started the switch mind games with him.
So that's 2!

I'm VERY tempted, but I may hang on till the Tiger release to see what else Apple has instore hardware-wise.
Of course after actually having a play with one I may change my mind and just jump in now.
It would be a 1.4 with bluetooth/wireless I'd say.

I'd get one if it were a G5, but its not, so I'll more then likely be getting the tower when my workload gets too much for my current Apples.
I still like them, although I have a lot ot argue about with features that would have taken up zero space, costed miniscule amounts of dosh extra and made the machine slightly more useful. But i am forever getting told that that is not the aim of the machine. Sounds like everyone else is saying its what Shuttle X PC should have made. Anyway.
I'll probably get one for my niece, and team it up with a nice LCD from PC land, a keyboard and mouse. Then a USB audio device for sound to go in (mic) and when Tiger comes out, so much for Core Image. Oh forget it, I'll buy an iMac.

dont worry about core image.
i have a feeling apple will make it run on the 9200 considering they have 3 macs that use the card.

I want two! One for home and another to install in our rack and run 10.3 Server but after I worked out the cost I might as well buy a second hand xserve.
Im going to wait until for a revision of the iMac and Tiger to come out.

Noticed this morning that Streetwise are discounting the Mac mini on pre-order.
Mac mini 1.25GHz $779.00*
Mac mini 1.42GHz $919.00
This is less than 10% off so you would be able to buy them thru the Apple Australia online store at the same price using their price match policy.

I'm going to get the 1.42 model, 512MB RAM, AE, but without the keyboard/mouse as I have the mouse but will get the keyboard separately.
On edu pricing too, around ~ $1K.

I was thinking about getting one but wanted to know what the quality would be like if I plugged it into say a "plasma tv". I was thinking it would be a great little media centre. I could use it as a DVD player and also for streaming music to my stereo. I could surf the net in the living room just use it as a spare computer when I didnt want to sit at a desk all the time. With the new version of QT, I am wondering if it would be good to watch movie previews and digital video too.
Im just wondering what the picture quality on a plasma would be like though, anyone have any ideas ??.
