Just saw on Apple's website, Quad-Core Mac Pro's. What a beast!

Hmmm disappointed, they're doing what they did when the Quad G5 came out, leaving the low end machines dual core and just having a top of the line machine as the beast.

Would be nice to have 8 Core machines across the range. Wonder if they'll end up in the xserve soon?

Doesn't look good for a decent iMac update (Quad Core).

Phew.....$4000US for a base model, with wireless options. I'm figuring $5500AUS when they land here.

Will be a great Leopard machine, as I have been reading a fair bit that even the Quads haven't been pushed all that hard by Tiger.

And no price drop for the lower spec models (which I believe to be justified, but whatever).

I hear that Safari is quite snappy on this beast. Worth every cent.

Well they need to fix the store if you click on the buy now button at http://www.apple.com/au/macpro/ it only gives you quad core pricing, & here I was looking for an excuse to buy a new machine.
