Not having much luck searching the forums on this topic, but I have a 16-month old G5 that has a 1-inch vertical white line on the LCD display. It started as a couple of yellow/blue/green lines and eventually graduated to an opaque vertical white line that won't go away. And it's outside of warranty.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue.

Pretty frustrated.

Wow never seen that before - guessing it would be rather expensive to fix, almost to the point of a replacement.

Any chance of a picture?

Is this an iMac G5, or a PowerMac G5 with an external LCD?

My advices:

1. Is your iMac Serial Number falling in iMac REP? If yes then try to bring it to our nearest Apple Service Centre. More infor here: http://www.apple.com/au/support/imac...ensionprogram/

2. If not then contact Apple directly and explain your situation see what they can do for you.

Yes, it's an imac g5 and a picture is there, just this vertical opaque line sitting on top of the display. Will check the serial at the posted link.
