How to install OS on a comuter for sale

This is probably a dumb question but I have 2 Macs I am about to sell. Before they go I am zero summing the hard drives with Techtool Pro an I then want to install the system restore discs (so I can demo the Macs to potential buyers with an OS in place) before they go out the door. My problem is when I install the OS I am prompted to complete the registration screens and to set a user name and admin password - is there any way of installing so that this doesn't have to be done?

Hope this makes sense.

If you want to actually demonstrate the user a working desktop etc - I'm not 100% sure how to do that, I don't think there is!

But if you just want the computer to be ready to hand to the buyer, simply turn the computer off when it starts the registration stuff, and when the computer is turned on next, it will go back to the start of the process at the "Welcome to OS X" vide.

There was a way to access the registration form on Panther. It was in ~/Library/Assistants and symlinked to the first user's home directory.

I've been looking for something similar on Tiger and can't find anything. I've read that one can just quit the setup assistant after installing a new OS. I've not tried that, but presumably that would lead to the Desktop afterwards and then when the machine is booted again, the registration form will reappear and can be filled out then.

I asked a mate and he dug up this page which tells exactly how to do it:

You can just Command-Q to quit while in the registration assistant.

Set up one user and do all free software updates.

When the customer comes, if they agree to take the machine, help them set up another user as admin, then delete your original account.

Or, follow the instructions in the link provided above.

Just make sure that the OS you put onto the machine is the OS it came with. If, for example, it was an iBook that came with 10.1.3, you can not sell it with 10.2, 10.3 or 10.4 on it.
