Mac Mini RAM upgrade time trial

Surely there are people out there that upgrade RAM in Mac Mini's far more often than me, I issue a challenge!

Post your times here for the Mac Mini RAM install HALL OF FAME.

Rules.

1. Time from when machine is taken from wrapper to time machine is reassembeld and chimes
2. must replace 2 RAM DIMMS
3. Must be timed by a third party as a witness
4. Remember people, it is only for fun - don't wreck yours or a customers machine trying to compete in this competition
5. No liability taken for anything resulting from thic competition by either myself or MacTalk.

I'll start, and hold first place - at least for now

Mikinoz - 10 minutes 21 seconds.

I was expecting 8.5, so I am a bit disappointed.

Ok guys - GO!

for the love of apple, keep this thread on topic please guys

Damn, it takes me a good 20 minutes to crack it open, insert the RAM, case back on and power it up
Don't you run the Apple Hardware Test and do an extended test on the machine before it goes out to the customers?

If there was an award for other Macs ...

- Clamshell iBook entire strip down (mobo replacement): 30 minutes

- iBook G3/G4 overclock/HD upgrade: 45 minutes

- Cube G4 take apart (mobo replacement, clean): 30 minutes.

... but 10 mins for a Mac Mini upgrade I cannay go near!

I reckon I can do an iBook G3/4 HDD in about 25-30 minutes. The first time I did it it took me about 2.5 hours!

We are talking about a white iBook G3, right?

6 minutes.... I wouldn't like to see the condition of the internal white paint if you managed to get the case off in that time!

I don't think I could even screw and unscrew all the screws (irrespective of the PITA shielding/bottom plastic layer) in 6 minutes!

Some go for speed, some prefer to get the job done right. I hope I don't ever send a mac to get repaired at wherever FBTN works.

Seriously, i have repaired perhaps 1000 + Ibooks for various problems, and i doubt very much i could change a hard drive in a white ibook in 6 minutes. While the job is not hard by any stretch of the imagination, i guess i can do a hard drive change on said white ibook in perhaps 15-20 minutes, but that does not include any testing afterwards.
I suspect it could be changed in 6 minutes, but as far as the final overall condition of the machine afterwards, that remains to be seen.

As forgie said "Some go for speed, some prefer to get the job done right."

Cheers

Thanks for your useful on topic comments macosxer.

Maybe you can post your times once you have participated in the abovementioned challenge.
