So you Mac Mini HTPC people gonna go for it or wait?
I waited for a month praying for a new mini at the keynote. Now im forced to wait weeks, perhaps months and im betting all ill get is a core2duo upgrade.
What are you other blokes who were waiting for a refreshed mini going to do.. wait or just get the core duo?

well see, I still have a crappy TV, so I glad a new mini would have forced my hand and a new tv and mini would be needed. I would like to wait for c2d mini plus one of those 200G BTO hdd they are offering on the laptops, and of course now the 11n wifi.
The appletv does nothing for me - i have 1 tv in the house, and I wont the mini with recording capabilities on that - if I ever get a second then the appletv would be great - but right now it doesn't server my purpose so I sit and wait the c2d mini

Agreed. As hard as it is to wait, C2D and 10.5 combination will be hard to beat. With any luck they will put 1GB RAM in the top model as well. Or get a superceded, price protected model when the new ones come out! |

I'd probably wait if i didn't already have a mini.

I am waiting. I hold hope that Apple will release a much better/cheaper mini and/or a new machine part way between the mini and the pro, specifically for the HDTV market - and in piano black

People get 'lost' in the euphoria of bidding, and hate to be outbid.
I put a $20Gb IDE HDD on Ebay once, for $1, and it sold for $130. I was amazed (and happy too) :-)
On topic, I'd wait for Leopard (at least that's what I am going to do). Sometimes being broke is a blessing :-)
Seriously if you buy one now, they will suddenly release a core2duo, with a seperate graphics card, leopard and 250Gb HDD, for $999AUS. It always happend...
Actually, get Leo Laporte to buy a mini, then a new model will definetly be released :-)
