Hey,

I was just wondering how much the iTS would make... I mean - after all, a majority of their products would go back to the artist. Has this ever been announced?

You mean goes back to the record company. The artist is the person that makes the least out of this whole arrangement.

Keep in mind : Apple is not screwing musicians. Labels are screwing musicians. Apple pays 70 cents per 99-cent download. If the artist has signed their music over to a label, they don't own their music anymore. The label does. So Apple pays the label 70 cents per song, and the label pays the artist... what... a penny? Two? Nothing at all?

I'd heard it was sweet FA, especially once admin costs etc are allowed for.

Apparently Apple make their money from shifting iPods rather than selling music.

But I could well be talking bollox.
