$470 will pay for the ram upgrade - that is probably more important when video editing etc than a marginally faster processor - have you thought about how much an extra gig of ram will cost you? (also, does the stock ram come in 2x512 sticks, so you need to buy 2x 1gb stick to max out the ram, or 1x1gb so you only have to buy one extra stick? - it can get very expensive very fast!!)
