Default Should I buy an iPod now?

Hello,

Just wondering how soon we can expect to see new iPods? i'm about to head to the USA to work, so i'm wanting an iPod to have while travelling and while on board the ship I'll be working on.

I'm looking at getting a 30 or 80 gb iPod.

Thanks,
-Mike

How long will you be there? It'd be tempting to get an iPhone ...

I'll only be there for 4 months. Plus I don't want to spend too much money, so I don't want to pay a huge monthly fee what i'll be working on a boat anyway. I'm not sure the iPhone will be suitable.

I know the Edu Ipod/Mac deal ends on April 16th, which is the day I depart! (Talk about convenient )

If you're not sure, perhaps invest in a mid-range iPod Nano, so you basically get it for free with the mac + ipod edu deal, than you will feel less guilty when you sell it later and buy yourself a brand new spanking iPod - whatever with hopefully a 120GB hard drive and 16x9
