Just a heads up to those looking at getting a Mac Pro and looking at possible options.

for those who haven't seen it this thread on apple's support forum, has a guy claiming that he has slapped a PC ATI 1900 XTX ( i'm assuming non EFI ) card in his Mac Pro and it was recognized and running under OS X.

I wouldn't be rushing out to source one just yet though.

I've wondered the same thing. If my 7900GTX would work in a mac pro I'd be one step closer to buying one.

Well since Macs are now much more similar to PCs, I'd assume that a PC graphics card would "just work". Seems logical to me! :P

According to that thread though, they don't unless they have EFI support in the firmware of the cards...

Thats just it though, details are still sketchy, but it looks like if the EFI boot process recognizes the card, the Mac Pro will boot, and run OS X ( as long as OS X has the drivers ). No more "mac-afied" video roms.
