Mums Imac
Got an Old Indigo G3 Imac DV MACOS 10.3.9 768mb ram 20gb HD
that has switching off or freezing even with no apps running.
Sometimes during or before freezing or switching off the screen will start to slightly distort rapidly both horizontal and vertical scaling (chucks a wobbly) then it will freeze or switch off.
Likes to crash on Disk utility as well but it’s the only app I test it with at the moment.
Has a continual Colour sync error which always comes up and some other error. These errors always appear. And it thinks it has fixed them.

It’s running 10.3.9 and has been running beautifully until last sunday.
I put in a PC133 168oin 512mb ram chip about 5 weeks ago which made it run really well (well for an email and iphoto mac anyway).

Took the 512mb ram out and still has same symtoms so it’s not the new ram.
The hard drive seems ok

So what do you guys think?
Is it the logic board?
Is it the power supply?
Or did the new faster ram stuff things up?

Thanks m8,
yep I think she’s a gonna,
may slavage some parts or offer it to a second hand dealer/repairer.
