Are you willing to try out an overclock?

First, you'll need to cool you're card. And since apple underclocked it (for some bizarre reason), you can now overclock it.

Who's willing to give this a shot? h34r:

I have done this to my Radeon 9800 Special Edition. It's overclockable to 420/380 now without artifacts (from 380/340)

Check this out for more details and post in my forum if you have any queries

I think my method is easier than Hardmac's technique of replacing the bolts with screws. Mind you I didn't attempt any voltage tweaking. That's pushing it a little bit too far with a $1000 card.

My PC has a 9600XT! Unfortunately, the only macintosh I have is a Powerbook.

Well the Powerbooks are overclockable too if they have an ATI Chip.

Be aware though that Powerbooks probably run hot enough without overclocking
