So I had a bit of a disaster a few weeks ago with my G5 iMac - Rev B. It was sleeping peacefully when my house lost power. When power was restored, iMac was DEAD. No response when I tried to turn it on. So I take it in to my reseller, and a couple of days later they tell me they have ordered a new power supply. It will not arrive for one week. OK then, bit pissed off, but I can live with the wait. A week later, I chase up the repair, and am told that Apple will not be getting my part in until March 24th! I think this is totally unacceptable, as I need my machine for work purposes. A week was long enough to wait, but almost 3 1/2?!? I finally got onto Apple customer relations, and after a few days of me calling them, they tell me that an "SOS" has been put out on the part and that "maybe" it will arrive in one week. The part was ordered by my reseller on the 2nd of March.
Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can speed up the process (as I would say there is only a very slim chance the part will actually arrive next week) or am I pretty much stuck with the wait?
