Wow. After the fiasco with the first Mac mini and the dealer not receiving stock for almost 3 months, my CTO Mac mini arrived in under two weeks.
Ordered on the release day, 1st March and delivered on the 9th.

CTO because I bumped memory to 1GB and disk to 100GB, since
everything else is included.

Does anyone know if the rumors are true about the bigger disks being faster ?

Will report back tonight once I get it home and connected.
Can you use a BT keyboard and mouse out the box ?
Or do you still need a USB keyboard and mouse to setup ?

Nah you can use bt mouse/keyboard out of the box. OSX realises it has no USB devices and then suggestions doing a scan for bt devices so set them on and ready to discover

Very good how it does this too, so no need for a USB keyboard to setup bluetooth gear

Well the machine is being setup at the moment.
The drive is a Seagate ST9100824AS.
This is also known as Momentus 5400.2, so it looks
like the rumor about faster drives is not true, unless its
referring to the 120GB drive.

its nice, but does it bother anyone that upgraded it to the same stats as a imac g5, it ends up very close to it?

i was surprised that the new ones started at $999... no matter which way you put it its not really money for value

i doubt apple consider it an alterntive to iMacs.
I dont and never will as it will never be as fast as any iMac
But its still great value even at $999
The duo model will match any sub 2Ghz dual g5 in raw cpu power and a dual 2GHz G5 plus screen costs alot more then a mini + screen
