Who's to say. Anything mentioned here is just speculation.

Next release should be march or april (the US spring; I am also expecting a limited edition release of something similar to the limited edition mac that was released for there 20th anniversary (that is the mac in Seinfeld)) No idea as to what is going to be released (i suspect ibook or macbook as i suspect it will be called based off what Steve said in the key note) I think the PowerMacs and XServes will probably be released US summer (or whenever the 64 bit version of the current chip is released).

As for 10.5 (Leopard?) I would suspect US Spring (say september) If I recall they wanted to get it out the same time as longhorn. They will probably preview it at WWDC. Apple announced a while back that they were increasing time between releases from 12 months to 18 months.

I hope that helps

Personally looking forward to a tower based on Intel's Dunnington chipset - 4 to 32 cores!

I'll send you some info when I get home from work this evening. But I'm using a work around on my 1ghz pbook, so it should work the same for you.

We never can know for sure with Apple . However, there are a few external things they're constrained by that might give an indication of when new products are released.

My guess is that since the Intel Core Solo (the single core version of the Core Duo in the iMac and MacBook Pro) isn't scheduled for release until later this year, that'll define the release of the Mac mini and iBook - I get the feeling they'll both be Core Solo powered. I think April/May is when the Core Solo is expected.

I'd say at least one version of Powermac with Intel CPU will come out in June/July with the WWDC event. I have no idea which chip it would be, so it's more a hunch that makes sense based on Apple's past releases

Panther lasted about18 months from its release until Tiger took over, and given OSX's maturity and the fact there's been no commentary from Apple about its release yet, it should be the same amount of time or longer until Leopard hits us. I wouldn't expect it before Macworld San Francisco in 2007 - anotherr good year away.

You have been able to connect a second monitor to the G5 iMacs since they were released by using the Screen Spanning Doctor.

With the release of the Intel iMac, Apple has officially supported a second monitor (about time, it was a stupid restriction dictated by marketing).

You can't use two monitors with a mac mini anyway.... unfortunately. (well I guess you can with one of those crappy USB monitor extenders, but I would expect it to be quite slow)

You can expect powermacs (mac pros, mactops?) to be announced at WWDC in June and available July/August.
