Hi all

I'm in the market for a rev C G5 20" iMac. It is with great joy that I've read ipod_man's post about him having some available in Hurstville.

Just a thought though; has anyone managed to buy one in the city (Sydney)? Hurstville is a bit of a way away and would prefer not to have to go back there for any servicing needs etc. So buying it closer by would be great.

Anyone?

Steve

So, the 20" iMacs have started to ship? I have one on order, but my boos can't even tell me when we will see it :-(

Are they starting to appear in numbers over east?

No, it's more like a scavenger hunt trying to find anything. There are a few 17"s around.

A few applecentres had some this last week but they went straight away to back orders...

So my advice is to place orders in one or two places and see what happens.

Hi,

ordered one the very next morning after presentation.
Apple reseller doesn't even know when or if he would get one.

Announced 1 month ago and declared immediately available .. maybe some got to us.
I think 3 weeks delay in shipping .. now they all go to us in 3 weeks we'll see one .. cool .. to be able to to receive a piece of technology 7 weeks after its market introduction .. considering that they last 6 months .. so .. 26 weeks .. I will enjoy it for 19 weeks and then its value will drop ..

Beautiful ... all beautiful ..

A work for an Applecentre here in Perth :-) We have had a couple of 17s float through (Photobooth is the 'funnest' app I've played with!), but no 20s. Just checking to see if anyone over East soem come in.

I know there was a report on news.com.au last week on how Apple were one of the big IT and electronics companies with stock gathering dust in Port Botany ;-) Fingers crossed that's the only delay, not that Apple actually don't have any.

Bit of an update... most stores got their demo in yesterday, so it shouldn't be too long now... (a week maybe)?

Check the thread on the mac mini bundle deal. The deal runs for 4 weeks, so you can expect a delay of another couple of weeks from your initial order before you get one.

Don't forget AppleCentres are also competing with Myers (whose latest catalog has the new iMac in it) and DJs for stock.

If you want someone to blame, send an email to customs. Who was the bright spark that decided on doing an IT rollout during the busiest time of the year for stock coming into the country????? What a joke!

Talk to the Minister!

The people who ran the old system (that still works!) looked at the new system and said -

Quote:
Do not roll this out yet! It has not been tested properly.
Well the Minister just went ahead anyway (what does he care? not his money...) and look where it got us all.
