i was vaccuming my room when i thought "hey what happens if i place the sucker near the exit air flow". So i placed it on the air exit way on the left (since thats where the CPU is) (The side without the CD player). And i managed to get it down to 40degrees, while it was running in a 30degree room. LOL!!!

i won't try it again since i will probably kill the fan. i had the vacum on low and about 5cm away from the exit way.

i hope the new imac g5's have liquid cooling!

Who needs fans if we just strap a vacuum to the side :P It's very PC-esque

We need people like you, that is how solutions are often found for everyday problems. By having a go and saying what will happen if.......

*stay away from my iMac though ok. No really back off! :P

You've pumped and pushed more air through the iMac's fan to make it spin faster than it normally would. Needless to say, this is a really bad idea.

Can't really see anything good coming from this thread - so I've closed it.

Sorry Byrd i just wanted to add one more thing

The static discharge that vacuum cleaners produce can be very bad for any electrical object.
Not only do you risk damaging the fans as Byrd suggested you risk killing the entire system.
