First of all, sorry to all that have seen me make multiple topics.....but most of what i have to ask is not a "general question" so...

guess what.

my powermac g5 with pioneer dvd drive has carked(i mean the drive has)........

what the?

i have had the computer for nigh on one and a half weeks, and the drive dies......

it is still under warranty.........3 months......

should i???

A: Take it back to a store and try to get it fixed....how much time would be involved?

B: Replace the DVD drive with an other one? ( i used a lg-gsa 4160b to test it, so that would be the replacement drive)

C: Or Jump up and down in an apple store with my reciept and waranty in hand?

thanks

get it replaced. it will be quicker, cheaper and less stressful than any other option. depending where you take it they should get it to you fixed with about 24 hour turn around. if thats not the case ring another.

Definitely go down to the store you purchased it from and have them replace the drive, or if you are lucky even the whole computer. Whatever you do don't go spending your money on a new drive and fixing the issue yourself, Apple is obliged to fix the problem.

Oh, and if you have just bought the computer, your warranty should be for one year, not three months. The one year warranty is standard on Apple computers.

you will not get a new computer after this period of time. 10 business days is the limit on DOA
