Just checking the new iMac prices on the Apple store site and I have noticed that the eMac is not listed anymore.
Apple may have quietly killed it off.
There is reference to it in the hardware link on the site but not in the store.

Appleinsider reckons the eMac is going:

I love mine too!!
Although the new 17 inch iMac (edu price) costs less than my eMac (edu pricing plus extra ram, superdrive, stand) did 15 months ago.

It cleans up Apple's lineup and not having CRTs are better for environment in the long run. It's all good.

its official the eMac...... IS DEAD!
apple killed it, i think it belives that schools wishing to switch to mac's will throw there esisting PC BOX and replace it with a mac mini... which is kind of true

I love the eMacs at my school. I will be a little sad to see them go.
They were reliable and performed reasonably well.
But the best thing was that they were so damn heavy wouldbe thieves would need to be hercules to flog a labful of them.
