Default Juniper SSL VPN Client

Hi All,

I'm a reborn Apple user from only a few weeks ago (dos/win3.1>win95>win98>various linux flavours>winxp>tiger>winxp--->win7>snow leopard) but I'm REALLY loving being back again.

I have a problem trying to get the Juniper SSL VPN client to load. I have scoured the web for a solution and found this, however I'm stuck.

I can't seem to find /usr/local.

I figured I'd have a sticky beak around the directory that I'm about to change before I perform my backup and make the change however when I type:

cd /user/lo [hit tab to auto-complete]

I hit a wall. My MBP beeps at me. Also, typing:

ls user/

returns a list of what folders etc are in the folder /user, with /user/local not existing.

I'm willing to bet there's something I'm missing that should be fairly obvious, but I haven't touched Unix systems for a long time.

Any help?

I've been using Juniper SSL VPN with my MBP for some time and used a method similar to this to get it working again after my snow leopard upgrade.

I think you're first problem is you're trying "/user/..." whereas you need to use "/usr/..." - i.e. it is usr and nor user.

Sorry, that's a typo in my post. I can get to /usr and see folders in there (in terminal) but no /user/local...

Working solution found!!

Text copied in case this link breaks:

Turns out you can download the dmg from the firewall through the url /dana-cached/nc/NetworkConnect.dmg – eg, if you’re connecting to example.com then the url will be https://example.com/dana-cached/nc/NetworkConnect.dmg (No, I’m not making that URL a hyperlink!)

Then, once it’s downloaded and installed you need to update the permissions on one directory and create another:

sudo chmod 755 /usr/local/juniper/nc/[version number]/

sudo mkdir ‘/Applications/Network Connect.app/Contents/Frameworks’

This worked for me using version 6.4.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.2

EDIT: the fake https:// URL is created automagically here, I can't disable it.
Also, this worked for version 6.4 on OS X 10.6.4
