Default Crossover Games

Has anyone had any experience with Crossover Games?

I've installed it recently and had a heap of trouble trying to get it to install steam which is supposedly on it's compatible list.

Once I finally managed to get it installed the games won't run. They just crash the whole machine.

Anyone here used it before?

Hi there Maghemi,

I'm a CrossOver Advocate (I test a number of applications under successive versions of CX and CX Games) but I have no personal experience with Steam. I'll give the CodeWeaver forums and resources a scour and see if I can find anything that might be of use to you.

Cheers,

Aaron.

I play Freedom Fighters which is known to not work (last time I checked), although for me it installs and runs without problems. Also play Hitman Contracts and 1 time out of 5 it doesn't run at the proper speed, rebooting my Mac fixes that though. Overall I am happy with crossover.

Maghemi, is this with a Mac Pro?

Which game? Some are just completely unsupported/untested.

I completed Half Life 2 under Steam with no problems, over a period of months - on a MBP Penryn.

So I can only praise the thing.

Don't know how to help otherwise.

EDIT: Other than running 2 monitors. Crashes here if I try that.

It's just Team Fortress 2 I'm trying to play.

It's on the mac pro in my sig. The one thing I didn't think of is the 4870 is a flashed card.. maybe because I have a monitor on the second dvi port it doesn't like it.

I might re-install and try without it.

No joy with that.

7 days is just not enough for a trial.

I'm definitely not going to pay for something that I can't get to work simply when they specify that Steam games are on their supported list.

Looks like I'm back to re-booting into bootcamp to play the game.
