Default Time Machine crashes when syncing

So i recently upgraded my macbook from tiger to leopard. Im using time machine with a wireless 500GB TC. I had it working fine for a while, then all of a sudden when it syncs it crashes my computer with an error message saying that i need to restart.

Any ideas?

I also recently had a similar problem that caused me to turn time machine off after it had been working perfectly. Now I don't have any menu items on the right hand side of the finder, no airport, no date and time and I can't turn them on in the system preferences? Help please.
