Default TheBom

Just a heads up, new TheBom is out!

One thing is really bugging me though. It appears that TheBom 1.3b clears the previous data, requiring you to wait until the update is downloaded and parsed, this is unlike 1.2b and older. I really find this a step backwards, because it prevents you from checking the weather at a glance. But fortunately it does do it quickly. Let's hope the developer reverts this change.

Yeah I noticed that too. Every time I go to view the widget it goes blank. Unfortunately for me it does not load quickly. I've reverted back to the older version.

If anyone wants 1.2b, download it here.

Let's petition this developer to remedy this!

Thanks for the heads up guys!
I find 1.2b often slow to reload / update anyway...
and if it clears data - then I might not upgrade just yet.

I just use the actual BOM site. It has been upgraded recently, and now has a bunch more info on it.

I used to LOVE this widget but in the last 2 releases it has kinda gone backwards with large delays while it's fetching the data..

I now find it quicker to load the weatherzone website than to load the widget!

The new release actually displays all the icons, before I was getting lots of little '?' boxes.

When I open Dashboard there is a delay of a few seconds and then all data is displayed, not any worse than before.

It rocks! (In a weather geek kind of way!)

Very nice.

I think I can now happily get rid of the Apple weather and Degrees DU widgets.

I grabbed this latest update as a trial - as I found 1.2b quite slow...
and am finding, despite it going blank every time you open Dashboard, that 1.3b seems more responsive and faster to refresh than the previous version.
