Did anyone try the leaked beta that was apparently floating about on the net? Skype 2.0 for Mac would be cool esp. for video, but I have stopped holding my breath....

Yep. i tried the beta and had a successful video chat with my sister in cairns.

Pretty average quality, but that could have been her camera.

Sounds great!

The good is that it might finally provide a pretty good cross platform video solution.

The bad is that Skype is getting a bad name in University environments. As Universities tend to have large (>= 1Gb) and fairly "open" Internet connectivity, a Skype running inside quickly becomes a super-node and we end up carrying other peoples conversations.

I found sightspeed to be a reasonably good crossplatform video chat client.
Have only tried with one PC friend so far but it worked ok.

Cool! The official skype forums and skype journal is quiet, so you must have a great insider :-)

Can't wait!

Sorry for being ignorant, but are we talking Skype for mac here? Will it (or did the beta) support built-in iSight?
