Cool Best bet for intel iMac (early 06) memory?

Heya

I've got one of the first run intel imacs and i've currently got 2x512mb memory, would like to upgrade to 2x1gb sticks.

now this is the criteria from Intel-based iMac: Installing and replacing memory (RAM)

You can use small-outline dual inline memory modules (SO-DIMMS) of 512 MB or 1 GB that meet all of these criteria:
  • PC2-5300
  • unbuffered
  • nonparity
  • 200-pin
  • 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
DIMMs with any of the following features are not supported in this iMac:
  • registers or buffers
  • PLLs
  • ECC
  • parity
  • EDO RAM

Is this what I want
1GB DDR2 PC5300 667MHz Super Talent (life-time) LAPTOP MEMORY in CHEAP DDR-2 LAPTOP MEMORY
(doesn't say PC2, just PC. doesnt say unbuffered, nonparity or 200pin)

or from MSY there's one listed as this
1G DDR2 Adata/SuperTalent/G.Skill/Kingston 21/21/21/21
(even less info than above)

So are those what I need? I'm trying to call msy to get them to tell me if they meet the above criteria but they're engaged (like usual)

If that's not what I'm after, can someone please advise me?

Thanks heaps

Personally I would contact mikinoz on this site.
2 x 1GB RAM for Intel iMac's $18 posted to you as per here.
Work colleague bought some RAM from him a little while ago. Arrived really quickly.

I wouldn't stuff around with MSY.

Semi related but I thought I'd put it out there in case anyone is in the same boat with an early 2006 Core Duo model iMac or Macbook Pro.

I recently had one of my RAM slots fail (a month out of Applecare!) and I thought I was stuck with a machine with only 1GB of RAM until I could afford a replacement (I do lots of FCP, Motion and Soundtrack Pro work and the RAM is important)

Apple and most retailers of RAM for Macs say you can't go above 2x1GB config. I took a gamble and bought a single Kingston 2GB ($40-80) stick of the correct spec. I can confirm it does work in these Core Duo machines with the 2GB RAM ceiling. You can't go above 2GB in total and 2 x 1 GB sticks should be cheaper but one defective RAM slot can be overcome.

Just FYI. The machine has been my favourite and least painful to own computer.

Just got through to MSY

The guy got the Kingston RAM box and it met the following
  • PC2-5300
  • 200-pin
  • 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Could I assume it meets the rest of the criteria as well? He couldnt see that info on the package.

I pm'd mikinoz. Do you know if those are new or used sticks/what brand they are?

Cheers
