Good to hear, did you get a reburb model or did you get brand new model from the store?

It would have been a new one since he got his money back to buy it with. Refurbs are kept in a warehouse, not at the store.

so, end outcome was go in with something (apparently) defective, and then walk out having paid more for the same thing?

I almost bought a 24" 3Ghz refurb from the online store this afternoon but got tied up with work. Now, I'm really nervous....should I fork out a bit more and get the new one ?
There are no Apple Genius in Brisbane.

I bought a refurb 24" iMac about a month/maybe 2 months ago. It has one dead pixel on the screen.
Honestly though it does not bother me at all - so I don't really need/want to get it fixed
