It could easily die in the next year.
Or, may go on for the next 20. I have plenty of old Macs/Apples that are still running, 20+ years after their creation dates. I helped my parents buy an iMac G4 last year as their first ever computer. I don't anticipate it will die any time soon. It can still run the latest Mac OS. It's reasonably speedy. It looks cool. Go for it I say.

I bought a 20" iMac G4 off this site from Barton in September last year. The old girl is still going strong. Only issue she has is that there is a propensity to get screen burn very quickly. Other than that, she runs beautifully.
It was the price in the end that made me take the plunge. Picked it up for under $500. |
