No mention of a new mouse but I would have to assume that if the iMac is changing to brushed aluminium (allegedly) then the keyboard and mouse might also get a new finish. I haven't used a MacBook keyboard. Does that flush style work well? Would it suit a desktop environment?

It's still a keyboard... It wont all of a sudden die in the arse when the new ones come out :P

I just bought an apple wireless keyboard and it rocks.
If the make the new one sorta like the macbook keyboard, personally I would avoid it.

At first I was apprehensive about the MB keyboard but after a week or so I really liked it. I can't use a normal keyboard well anymore after using the MB everyday.

I'd never really thought of the MB keyboard as a prototype for a full-sized version. An intriguing possibility, and could result in a much thinner keyboard unit.
It would be nice to fashion the keys into a shape that is comfortable for the fingers to move across though...

After years with curved, allegedly ergonomic, keyboards, I now have a similar aversion to straight keyboards. And quality curved ones are becoming so much harder to find....

Somehow I imagine Apple not being that silly however... maybe it will be thinner, but still have legs on it to adjust the angle... |

Appletell (new to me) are reporting that the "new iMac" keyboard will be similar to the diNovo Edge, with backlighting / inbuilt front row remote / and i'd presume there's customisable keys etc. This'll be one to look out for. I do love my current Apple Bluetooth keyboard, but find it a bit lacking on features. It does make up for it in style, however those features do nag at me a little sometimes! |
